Brent Edwards has been a journalist for almost 40 years and is currently political editor at the National Business Review in New Zealand. He had previously been political editor at the Evening Post and then economics correspondent, political editor and finally news director at Radio New Zealand before taking up his current role. He began his career on a small provincial paper in Nelson before shifting to live and work in London for two years. All his time in journalism Brent has been heavily involved in the journalists’ union and is the New Zealand representative on the Australian Media Alliance’s Media Safety and Solidarity Fund. During the 1990s he was a member of the New Zealand Press Council.
