Women journalists across the globe are urged to apply for the prestigious 2021 Fetisov Journalism Awards (FJA) which offers financial rewards of over $140 000. The deadline for entries is August 1. While the cash prize attracts top journalism talent from across the world, a limited number of women come out tops.
Of the 35 shortlisted stories in the 2020 annual Fetisov Journalism Awards, 11 of them were individual works by women journalists, three of which were winning entries of women journalists. Furthermore, three were collaborative works by both men and women journalists.

Kohima: Nagaland journalist Manno Wangnao from Tizit in Mon district has won the prestigious Fetisov Journalism Award (FJA-2020) in ‘Contribution to Civil Rights category’.
Wangnao was part of cross-border investigative journalism ‘Migrants from Another World’ where she collaborated with journalists from around 14 countries to investigate the illegal immigration networks thriving across the globe.
The collaboration won the First Prize in the Contribution to Civil Rights category for a series of investigative reports that were published last year. Wangnao is the first journalist from Nagaland to win the Award which was virtually presented recently. Read more

Recientemente el Fetisov Journalism Award, con sede en Suiza, escogió un reportaje de la periodista de La Hora, Mariela Castañón, para ser parte de un compilatorio de trabajos periodísticos que será entregado a diferentes organizaciones de periodismo en el mundo.
Castañón fue nominado en la categoría de reportaje de investigación sobresaliente por el tema: “Trata sexual, un delito denunciado en el Hogar Seguro Virgen de la Asunción”, publicado por este medio en 2018.
