The 2025 ceremony celebrated courageous public-interest journalism from around the world, recognising outstanding work in four categories: Outstanding Contribution to Peace, Contribution to Civil Rights, Outstanding Investigative Reporting, and Excellence in Environmental Journalism.

This opening film brings together the voices of journalists reflecting on truth, courage, accountability and the responsibility of journalism in times of injustice and uncertainty.
